Exchange of ideas, discussion on new techniques with international faculty
NewZNew (Chandigarh) : 1st Elite Arthroplasty Congress 2015, organized by Max Elite Institute of Orthopedics and Joint Replacement successfully concluded today at Hotel JW Marriot here. Over 300 Orthopedic surgeons from across the country converged at the two-day conference to acquaint themselves with latest technology and new advancement in the field of Arthroplasty. Several internationally acclaimed faculty members from countries like USA, UK, Germany, France and Italy were present at the two-day conference. One of its kind events happening in north India, some of the latest implants were launched for the first time at the conference. The latest techniques were demonstrated to participating delegates through live surgery and they also got the great opportunity to interact with the designer surgeons of some of the implants who were present at the conference.
Earlier in the day, the revolutionary Journey II Bi-Cruciate Stabilized Knee System was launched today the conference. It aims towards improving patient satisfaction and implant longevity through unmatched function, motion, and durability.
Dr. Manuj Wadhwa, Director and Head, Max Elite Institute of Orthopedics and Joint Replacement, Mohali and also the Course Director of the Congress, while speaking on the occasion said, “Although Indian doctors are at par with their counterparts in developed countries with respect to knowledge on subject matter but India lacks behind in terms of technology. They can only get exposure on latest techniques by visiting those countries. Speaking on the concluding day Sandeep Dogra, Vice President and Zonal Head, Max Hospitals, Punjab said, “There has been increasing thrust on enhancing longevity and making the functioning of implants as natural as possible. Use of highly advanced material and coating enables very sophisticated implants, which not only improves the strength significantly but also reduces the postoperative complications considerably. For instance patient can walk home on the same day after hip replacement surgery. It is indeed our privilege that we could bring some of the revolutionary technology for the benefits of Indian surgeons.”
Highly engaging and intriguing conference, the specialist surgeons from across the world presented case studies, debated on topical issues and shared tips on handling challenging cases. Besides designer surgeons and delegates from across the country, the Elite Arthroplasty Congress also marked the presence of leading implant manufacturers of the world who had put up their latest products on display.
