NewZNew (Chandigarh) : There have been a lot of speculations around the cast of STAR Plus’s Sumit Sambhal Lega and who will be playing the different family members. The official adaptation of the globally popular sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond – Sumit Sambhal Lega will showcase the predicament of every married man in today’s time. The show stars Namit Das as the Desi ‘Raymond’ who will be essaying the lead role of Sumit, stuck ina tug-of-war between his mother and wife. Bharati Achrekar from ChidiyaGhar fame recently confirmed that she will be playing Sumit’s mother – Dolly Walia.

Bharati’s character, Dolly is of the modern day saasbut in spite of getting rid of the traditional sari and heavy make-up, she still harbors the typical insecurities every mother has for her son after marriage. Dolly will be seen constantly competing with her daughter-in-law for her Sumit’s attention, with Sumit trying to balance between his mother’s demands and wife’s wishes.

Comic roles being her forte, BharatiAchrekar has done many great projects in the past and is quite excited about her new avatar where she will also be seen sporting a stylish new haircut! She shared, “I am very excited to essay the role of Dolly Walia – Sumit’s mother on the show. Like all mothers across the country, Dolly’s entire world revolves around her son. The mother-in-law and her daughter-in-law feud is something that is second nature to the Indian Television Industry. What Sumit Sambhal Lega will bring new to the table, is an additional insight as to what goes on in the mind of a man who is stuck between his mother and his wife.
