For Indian Enterprises, ‘Going Mobile, Going Virtual and Going Global’ has been the catalyst for their Information and Communications Technology (ICT) demand. The half-life of technology is also driving affordable and smaller form factors, allowing connected devices to now play an important role in communicating vital statistics and information to/from remote locations, thereby making information available in real time.

The event also covered the required building blocks, key enablers and challenges faced to implement the SMI strategy in a company.  The event came alive with insightful discussions on case studies of businesses that have succeeded through harnessing the power of SMI.

The keynote speech was delivered by Mr. Rakesh Kumar Verma, secretary technical education and industrial training. The evening ended with an insightful and invigorating panel discussion on how technologies such as IoT, social media penetration and mobile application usage will impact the functioning and services of businesses. The panel was graced by Mr. Atul Gupta, Red Alkemi, Co-Founder & CEO; Mr. JD Ghai, Founder & CEO, Santabanta.com; Mr. Ajay P. Shrivastava, Additional Director & Center Head STPI, Mr. K.S Bhatia, Founder & MD at Pumpkart.com and Mr. Himanshu Khanna, Head, Marketing, Enterprise Business, Tata Teleservices Limited.

Commenting on the event, Mr. Harjit Singh Chauhan, Head – B2B Operations, Tata Teleservices Limited stated, “In the age where more ‘things or objects’ are connected to the Internet than people, Tata Docomo understands that data and the growing penetration of technology, especially in businesses, is no longer a luxury but a necessity today. The fact that consumers are adopting and adapting to mobile based services at an exponential rate is a direct consequence of the ‘half-life’ phenomena.
