Delhi University UG Entrance Exam 2017 will be for 1,916 seats

newznew (Chandigarh) : DU UG entrance exam 2017 will be conducted for admission to as much as 1,916 seats in 9 Undergraduate courses. The online registrations for UG entrance exam to be conducted by the University of Delhi will be accepted up to 25th June, while the classes would commence from 20th July. More details on course-wise seats and entrance exam have been updated below.

University of Delhi (DU) will be opening the application process for Entrance exam based admissions to Undergraduate programs from 6 pm today. A press note was issued by Delhi University in this regard on Thursday that said the online applications will be accepted from 16th June onward for admission to UG entrance based programs for the academic session 2017-18.

Delhi University will hold the online entrance exam in 18 cities across the Country for admission to 9 undergraduate courses. The admit card for DU UG entrance exam 2017 will be available from June 28. The online registrations are now open at the official website www.ugentrance.du.ac.in. Initially, the application process was to commence from 31st May, but it was delayed by 15 days. Till last year, DU conducted JAT (Joint Admission Test) for admission to three courses – BMS, BBA (FIA) and BA in Business Economics, but now the entrance exam will be conducted for following nine courses:

  • Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) – 553 seats
  • Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Investment Analysis) – 136 seats
  • B.A. (Hons.) Business Economics – 473 seats
  • B.A. (Hons.) Humanities and Social Sciences – 40 seats
  • Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) – 400 seats
  • Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Health Education & Sports: B.Sc. (P.E., H.E. & S.) – 108 seats
  • B.A. (Hons.) Multimedia and Mass Communication – 52 seats
  • B.Tech. (Information Technology and Mathematical Innovations) – 40 seats
  • B.A. (Hons.) Music – 114 seats

While the entrance test will be conducted in online mode for eight courses, entrance exam will be based on practical admission entrance test for B. A. (Hons.) Music program. The practical entrance test will be held in the Department of Music, Faculty of Music & Fine Arts, University of Delhi.

For the admissions to academic session 2016-17, there were 415 seats in BMS, 90 seats in BBS and 488 seats in BA Business Economics. The number of seats available for admissions through DU entrance test will be notified along with the prospectus at the University website www.du.ac.in.

As per the DU Joint Admission Test held last year, the admissions were done by giving equal weightage to the marks of qualifying exam and entrance exam. There was also no prescribed syllabus or format for the entrance exam and the question paper was basically designed under General English, Quantitative Ability, Reasoning & Analytical Ability and Business & General Awareness sections.
