NewZNew (Bathinda) : Chief Agriculture Officer Bathinda Dr Rajinder Singh Brar today stated that district level kisan mela is being held on April 5 to inform farmers about the forthcoming seasonal crops and impart them latest knowledge on farming. The kisan mela would be held at 10 am at the new grain market.
He stated that the chief guest of mela would be Deputy Commissioner Bathinda Dr Basant Garg, director agriculture department Dr Mangal Singh Sandhu will preside over the event and the scientists of Punjab Agricultural University(PAU) Ludhiana would answer farmers’ queries on the spot.
The agriculture information office Dr Gurtej Singh added that men and women farmers as well as the women-run self help groups would put up stalls pertaining to food processing and special information would be given on farm machinery. He appealed the farmers to participate in this event with great enthusiasm and derive as much information as they could.
