NewZNew (Panchkula) : Doon Public School, Panchkula’s Cricket nursery – Shri Shri Cricket Academy has trained a talented young Cricketer from Korea – 19-Year-Old, Lee Kang Min. Min was identified for training by the Academy’s resident Coach Arun Kanojia who has made a name for himself by imparting cricketing skills for 3 months to players of Korea’s National Team in 2013, at the Doon Public School, Panchkula’s facility. After this, Kanojia’s expertise was realised by the Korean Cricket establishment and he was called to Korea by the Korean Cricket Association, to give tips to players there for development of the game. Back recently from his tour, Kanojia said, “I saw Min playing on the sidelines when I was training the National players of Korea. He looked promising. The spark in Min prodded me to persuade him and his parents to plan a professional career in Cricket for the Korean youngster. The family and Min agreed and he came down to Panchkula to learn the game. His caliber is now of the same level of most National team players in Korea and even better than many. He has a bright chance to get into the National team.”

After the training that started in July last year he has shaped up quite well as a wicket keeper batsman. He understands Hindi and is very motivated, hard working and has an unrelenting hunger for success. According to Min, “It has been a very rewarding experience learning the game at Doon Public school, Panchkula’s cricket academy. I have attended grueling practice sessions and I want to compliment my coach for being so patient with me and breaking the cultural barrier so easily. The cricketing skills I have learnt here stand me in good stead to enter the National Korean cricket squad.” It is noteworthy that Min had been participating in Korea’s University Cricket League. Said Capt Sanjay Anand,SM, Principal, Doon Public School, Panchkula, “It gives me immense pleasure and I am filed with a feeling of pride to say that Doon Public School, Panchkula’s Cricket Academy has earned a name for itself in the area of training the Korean National Cricket players and Min is the latest in the series. His calling now is the Korean National team.”

Min is leaving on January 9 for Korea and it is learnt the Korean media is waiting for him anxiously.
