NewZNew (Chandigarh) : In order to further facilitate the Citizen of Chandigarh to pay property tax at ease, Department of Information Technology through SPIC launched online facility to pay property tax at www.sampark.chd.nic.in. Sh. Vijay Dev, IAS, Adviser to Administrator inaugurated the online payment of property tax facility at Tagore Theater today. This initiative is in alignment with the vision of render public services anytime anywhere. Citizens can now pay their online property tax from any part of the world through e-payment portal (www.sampark.chd.nic.in). This facility offers range of payment options like; Net banking, Debit card & Credit card of any bank through which e-payment can be made by the residents for their electricity & water bills apart from property tax.
Speaking on this occasion Sh. Vijay Dev , IAS, Adviser to Administrator said “ We are committed to improve the quality of citizen centric services by bringing public services to citizens on their schedule and their doorstep. Enabling online facility for routine citizen interactions allows government to focus more attention on the aspects of customer service that are most challenging. Our ultimate goal is that all public services which involve money transaction with government be integrated with e-payment portal so that residents will be able to make online payment for all services. All departments of Chandigarh Administration are working in sync to achieve this goal”.
Dr. S.B Deepak Kumar, IAS, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Secretary Information Technology who was also present said “This is the third service we have added on ePayment portal for online payment and we are continuously working to add more and more services under this portal. Such ePayment services will optimize government services delivery, citizens participation and internal government processes. It will increase convenience, reduced time for services, will increase accessibility and availability (Seven days round the clock).”
Online payment facility of house tax will be made live tomorrow and residents can visit e-payment portal www.sampark.chd.nic.in to make electronic payment of their utility bills through Net baking, Debit/Credit Cards.
Citizens can online pay their house tax easily, in four simple steps:
- Log into www.sampark.chd.nic.in and go to online services and click payment of house tax
- After clicking payment of house tax, Citizens have to read terms & conditions and then click at form to fill up the house tax form and then click submit button.
- After submitting, form will be generated and citizen will take the print out of form and click pay button. Payment of their house tax could be done through following options:
- Net Banking
- Debit Card
- Credit Card
- On successful completion of transaction, citizen can save receipt online with transaction Reference Number.
The residents have to pay following additional charges while making e-payment:
| Through Internet Banking | Rs. 10/- per transaction |
| Debit Card | @0.75% for payments upto Rs.2000
@ 1% for payments above Rs.2000 |
| Credit Card | @1% of the transaction amount. |
Additional 14% Service Tax will be charged only on transaction charges
The residents will be eligible for rebates on paying property tax as per following timelines :
