NewZNew (S A S Nagar – Kulbir Singh Kalsi) : “Let’s Talk Health” – An Ivy initiative for community Health – Ivy Hospital Mohali organized an open interaction among the doctors & general public in association with North Country Mall.
The Social Hub in the foyer of the Mall was converted into a Health discussion platform where people could come and discuss personal health issues, questions etc and also could attend the Health Talk on varied topics like handling medical emergencies, taking care of one’s heart, bones & child care.
Dr. Abhimanyu Sharma, Head- Emergency at Ivy informed that the hospital emergency receives a large number of patients in critical condition, who have either met with an accident, a heart attack, a brain stroke, burns, severe pain, snake bites, electric shock, child having swallowed some foreign material etc. Who could have been saved, had the family taken some immediate & right steps to handle the medical emergency situation.
Dr. Abhimanyu shared some basic tips with the people on handling medical emergencies; those could help them in saving the life of their near ones & others.
Dr. Rohit Modi, Senior Interventional Cardiologist, spoke about different types of heart problems & emergencies that could commonly occur and advised people on how to respond in such a situation and save the patient.
Dr Manpal Narula, Senior Consultant Orthopedics & Joint Replacement emphasized on the importance of health bones in overall well being a human. He advised preventive care to keep the bones healthy and functional even in the older age through regular checkup, exercise and healthy diet.
Many families with little kids found pediatrician Dr. Rashmi Pandove presence very helpful. Dr. Rashmi, Senior pediatrician answered many queries of the families concerning their kid’s health. All felt very satisfied after hearing from her.
“Let’s Talk Health” programme received enthusiastic response from the visitors to the mall who interacted with the doctors and got answer to their queries, informed Sunit Agarwal, Ivy Group Head Marketing. He also informed that Ivy would soon be launching a single emergency helpline number where one can get immediate help from the specialist concerned to handle the critical situations.
