Max India Foundation sends essential medicines to J&K flood victims

NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Even as J&K witnessing the worst floods in decades, the lakhs of people still stranded and desperate for help, Max India Foundation (MIF), the corporate social responsibility wing of Max Group has pledged support to flood-ravaged people of valley. Ms. Mohini Daljeet Singh, Chief Executive, Max India Foundation has handed over cartons of essential medicines to Maj. General Rajveer Singh, Commandant of Command Hospital, Chandimandir Cantonment at Command Hospital today.

The cartons of medicines contained drugs such as Biodipine, Azee, Ciplox, Combiflam and broad spectrum antibiotics, anti inflammatory drugs, pain killers and anti-diarrhoea tablets and syrups. This is the first lot as next week MIF will make similar contributions through the Army in Delhi.

Speaking on the occasion Ms. Mohini said that it was a small gesture on the part of MIF in association with Max Super Speciality Hospital, Mohali and Max Speciality Films to support the flood victims. We extended our gratitude to personnel of the Indian Army, the Indian Air Force and the National Disaster Relief Force, who were working around-the-clock to evacuate lakhs of people who were still trapped in flood-ravaged areas.

She said further that every year since the launch of the MIF, there has been a major disaster  in the country and  we immediately reached out to the army with our contributions of medicines, sleeping bags, dry rations, woolens blankets . We knew for sure they would reach the beneficiaries and help the armed forces personnel in their gallant task of rescue and relief. We did this in Uttarakhand last year, Assam the year before, Orissa and so on.”
