NewZNew (Zirakpur) : Dikshant International School has partnered with ‘Vox Populi: The Debating Phenomenon’ to host the North India Edition of a mega Inter School & Institution debating event for the year. The event kick started in the school premises with over 100 participants from different schools & educational institutions of tricity receiving training from experts on finer nuances of debating after which the debates started.
“There will be 15 debates altogether, making the event one of the largest debating contests of the region. All top notch institutions from the zone have been invited and shall fight for the Best Delegation trophy over a course of 2 days.” Said Mitul Dikshit, Chairman, Dikshant International School.
The Debates have been categorized in the following genres — The Rising Intelligentsia, Opinion Shastra — A bilingual Debate, Ancient Times and Deliver The Difference, to name a few.
“Young India needs to be at par with the other generations. The intellect of this generation happens to be of a great stature and hence giving them a forum to voice their opinions is of paramount importance. The event provides a very good platform for young debators.” Said Shreyansh Bhalotia, President, Vox Populi: The Debating Phenomenon.
The issues being debated upon range from issues of National to International interest. Some of the issues are Vegetarianism is Superficial, India is all about Indians, Non Renewable Energy Meet and Kargil War.
