NewZNew (Chandigarh) : ‘Mommy & Me’ — A unique fashion show for Moms & Kids, was held as a tribute to Mothers on Mother’s Day at Hotel JW Marriott. This event was organised by Ambro Group, Dance-Pe -Chance(DPC) Academy and Omika Creations. The event saw mothers sashaying down the ramp with their smartly turned out kids in one round and in the other category mothers showed their ramp walk skills individually. Even some expecting mothers walked the ramp.
Said Mr. Roahan Kalra, Director, Ambro Group, “Mothers today showed; that they have no dearth of talent. If they can be good cooks, homemakers, professionals and run businesses, they can also participate in ramp walks to show their fashionable & glamourous side.”
Nearly 100 mothers took part with their kids. The event did not just witness fashion walks by mothers and their kids but also a very pertinent Health Session by Max Hospital gynaecologists, Dr Seema Wadhwa and Dr Seema Sharma was organised for expecting mothers. The unique aspect about this was that even husbands were told about the different problems a pregnant lady has to go thorough in the pre and post natal phase. What’s more, experts from Kids’ Vitamins manufacturer ‘Gummi King’ also held an awareness session about need for Vitamins for healthy growth of a child.
Said Mrs. Jagdeep Kaur, Founder & Director of DPC, “As kids these days have too much exposure to electronic media, social media, internet etc. the loving, caring & innocent relation, between mother & child; is receiving a set-back. So we thought of paying not just a tribute to Mothers on Mother’s Day by organising the Ramp Walk with kids in tow, but also to strengthen the bonding between Mother & Child.”
The event also saw a very topical play staged by children of an NGO – ‘Bachpan’, which has professionals imparting free education to underprivileged kids.The event was high on the fashion quotient as it saw the glamourous launch of Omika Creation’s latest summer collection for kids. Zaira Diamonds too showcased its latest designs which were donned by the beautiful participating moms.
Sums up Mrs. Veena Sachdeva, Director, Omika Creations, “It was a successful event in which Mothers came not just from the tricity but places like Delhi, Jalandhar and Ludhiana too. We did not have any competition, as according to us all Mothers are equal. It was a fun activity where Mothers got a chance to come out of their homes & offices to enjoy being ‘glam models’ with their kids.”
The event was perfect ode to Mothers who have an innate ability to give and not ask for anything in return from their kids, this is why the platform of Mommy & Me honoured motherhood and all it stands for.
