NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Nav Bal Niketan School, Sec 29, Chandigarh organized a fancy dress competition in the school today. The theme of the competition was “India’s Freedom struggle”. The corridors of the school were abuzz with activity as students were seen moving around in colorful attire. Parents dressed their children innovatively to go with the theme. The kids became the centre of attraction at the event.

Rani Jhansi, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Mahatama Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Chander Shekhar Azad, Subhash Chandra Bose, Begam Hazrat Mahal and Lala Lajpat Rai were students’ favorites. Students from classes Ist– VIIIth gave a lively presentation to the audience around the life of the person they were representing. Students from the class 7^th & 8^th Shubham (Mangal Pandey) declared 1^st and Amit (Subhash Chandra Bose) declared 2^nd. Whereas students from class 5^th & 6^th Arvin (Bhagat Singh) declared & Deepali (Begam Hazrat Mahal) and Ria ( Rani Jhansi) declared 2^nd.

Principal Mrs Punam Mahajan told the students to draw inspiration from the lives of these great people who laid down their lives in India’s struggle for independence.
