NewZNew (Bathinda) : Two donors today donated Rs 1 lac to the Red Cross Society run Mahant Gurbanta Dass School for Deaf and Dumb Children. The Deputy Commissioner Bathinda-cum-chairman District red Cross Society Dr Basant Garg said that Mr Rakesh from Grey Matters and VP operations from the Max Superspeciality Hospital donated Rs 50, 000 each for the school.

Appreciating the efforts of donors he said that all of us should use one-tenth part of our income in philanthropic activities. He said that at Mahant Gurbanta Dass School for Deaf and Dumb Children, these special students are imparted education and skills to bring them at par with the normal children. He added that currently 186 children are studying at the school of which 86 live in the school’s hostel. The children are imparted education on the pattern of Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) and are also imparted vocational skills. He appealed people to help for the betterment of these children.
