NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Continuing with the protest against the anti farmer face of BJP, S. Inderjit Singh Zira and S. Jagtar Singh Rajla today protested again in front of Punjab Vidhan Sabha. S. Zira who is former minister and Chairman of Kisan & Khet Majdoor Cell of PPCC alongwith S. Jagtar Singh Rajla Ex MLA had protested by raising slogans in Vidhan Sabha yesterday, after which they were detained by the staff of Vidhan Sabha. Punjab Vidhan Sabha speaker had barred their entry for this session.
Today S. Zira and S. Rajla sneaked into the premises of Punjab Vidhan Sabha and sat in a dharna on the entry gate of Punjab Vidhan Sabha at 9.00 a.m. and started raising slogans against the Punjab Government, anti farmer BJP and Punjab Vidhan Sabha speaker. The protesting Congress leaders were arrested by Chandigarh Police and detained in Sector-3, Police Station for more than 5 hours. S. Zira and S. Rajla were later released by the Police.
Lot of Office Bearers of Kisan & Khet Majdoor Cell had gathered in front of the Police Station to receive the Congress Leaders upon their release. Inderjit Sngh Zira in a statement issued today said that he is committed to fight for the cause of farmers of Punjab and he will continue to protest against the anti farmer policies of Punjab & Centre Government. He also informed that they will launch a agitation from Maghi Mela to demand the implementation of Swaminathan report as was promised by Sh. Narendra Modi during the Lok Sabha polls.
