NewZNew (S A S Nagar) : Shemrock Sen. Sec School, Sec-69 Mohali engaged themselves in the Janam – Ashtami celebrations. The school wore a festive look as the students of Pre-Primary with their beautiful smiles and colourful attires of Radha, Krishna , Sudama was prepared for the day activity which was ‘Matki Todh’(pitcher). In their cheerful mood they were full of enthusiasm to break the Matki.
Traditionally, the Matki full of curd was stealthily broken by ‘Kanha’ which showed his innocence. Similarly students were ready to break the Matki filled with sweets. They tried their best to reach the Matki in order to break it up and grab as many sweets as they could. The students mesmerized their teachers and the principal with their eye catching performance when they tried to reach the Matki, hung a bit away from their reach.
Apart from that senior students gave invaluable massage of religous Scripture through pictures. Later, they also went to Temple along with their teachers to worship Lord Krishna. Aarti, Puja and bhajans were performed by the teachers and children as well.
The Director Education Air Commodore (Rtd.) S K Sharma concluded the celebration by encouraging the students to inculcate values and to add a sense of purity and respect towards their family and friends.
