Cocktail competition – INTOXICATION – 2016 at AIHM

NewZNew (Chandigarh) : The day concluded with a spirited Cocktail Competition Intoxication 2016 which was amongst the third year students of the reputed Hotel Management college in the city – Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management. The event was a spectacular platform for the students to showcase their enterprising and inventive Bartending skills.

A preliminary test was performed out of which five students got screened for the competition. The event involved making of two cocktails, the first one being a Classic Cocktail and the second one was an Innovative Cocktail (on the basis of student’s creativity). Mr. Ajay Tandon, CITCO and Mr. Vishal Kalia, Senior Faculty, CIHM graced the occasion by their esteemed presence as judges for the event. “Being behind the bar counter has always been blissful and an inspiration for me! I have always believed that the cocktail is the mirror impression of the barmen’s ideology and henceforth Cocktail – making itself means creativity”, as said by Mr. Ajay Tandon, one of the judges. Many cocktails were prepared by the students like Pinacolada, Whiskey Sour, Blue Lagoon, Tom Collins, Tequilla Sunrise. All the cocktails were judged upon some basic parameters like taste, flavour, aroma, neatness of work, etc. The winners of this fantastic event were declared as:

“The college has always celebrated the event with a colourful and spectacular way, observing and motivating the young bartenders from the college, playing with various kinds of spirits just creates a overwhelming mentor in me. These contests helps the participants and others to learn a lot in bartending and gives them a platform to exhibit their talent,” said by Mrs. Bharti Tyagi, principal of the AIHM Chandigarh.
