Giving this information here today the Deputy Commissioner Dr Basant Garg stated that after re-verification 1, 88, 116 holders of blue cards (atta-dal scheme beneficiaries) have been found genuine and on the directions of Punjab government these beneficiaries are being distributed grains. He added that in last few days 4000 quintals of grains has been distributed in district that includes 1000 quintals distributed at Bathinda, 690 quintals distributed at Goniana, 1000 quintals distributed at Nathana, 800 quintals distributed at Rampura, 450 quintals distributed at Maur Mandi, 100 quintal distributed at Ramnagar, 340 quintals distributed at Talwandi Sabo and 101 quintals distributed at Raman Mandi centers. He added that Punjab government has allocated 3611 MT of wheat.
Dr Garg said that the distribution schedule has been formed in such a way that it is mandatory for every depot holders to distribute grains in the presence of a committee formed for the same and the officials of food supplies department.
He added that the families, whose blue cards were omitted during last verification drive, are being given another chance to get their documents checked and benefits reinstated for which camps are being held in villages and wards on July 29 so that no genuine beneficiary is left out. He added that camps will be held in villages, towns and cities on July 29 Wednesday from 9 am to 5 pm.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed left out beneficiaries to visit these camps. He added that SDM Bathinda, SDM Maur, SDM Talwandi Sabo and SDM Rampura Phul have been deputed as overall supervisors while at block level BDPOs and at nagar council level the executive officers will supervise.
