Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, the SAD-BJP MP from Anandpur Sahib Lok Sabha constituency, has over three decades of rich legacy of student activism, Akali politics and statesmanship. As a staunch ideologue of the party and strident pro-people leader, he is known for his stellar role in the state legislature (1985 to 87) and Lok Sabha (1996 to 1998 and 1998 to 1999). He earned far and wide appreciation for his visionary statements and oratorical skills in the parliament. As the cooperation minister in S. Surjit Singh Barnala cabinet, he made some landmark decisions in favour of the farming community.
Prof Chandumajra has been jailed many times due to his staunch views in student politics and unwavering faith in service of the masses. He has earned the reputation of a leader of the masses by playing a crucial role in cooperation reforms, development initiatives, employment generation and social justice activities.
Prof. Chandumajra is also the General Secretary of the Shiromani Akali Dal. He is very active in productive works of not only his area but whole punjab as well.
