JASSOWAL WAS SYNONYMOUS WITH PUNJAB’s CULTURAL HERITAGE
NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of cultural icon Mr. Jagdev Singh Jassowal (80), who breathed his last after a brief illness at a Private Hospital in Ludhiana this morning. He is survived by a wife and two sons.
Sharing his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family, friends and relations of the deceased, the Chief Minister prayed to the almighty to give courage to bear this huge loss in this hour of crisis and grant peace to the departed soul adding he said that a void has been created in the literary and cultural fraternity which was difficult to be filled.
It may be recalled that Mr. Jassowal was the founder President of Prof. Mohan Singh Memorial Foundation who tirelessly worked hard till his last breathe to revive the cultural heritage of the state.
In view of on-going winter session of Punjab Vidhan Sabha, the Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today deputed his Advisor Mr. Mahesh Inder Singh Grewal to attend the cremation of cultural icon Mr. Jagdev Singh Jassowal at Ludhiana tomorrow on his behalf.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that Mr. Badal would be unable to attend the cremation of Mr. Jassowal as he would be pre-occupied in attending the pre-scheduled session in the state assembly.
