World Disabled Day observed

NewZNew (Chandigarh – Kulbir Singh Kalsi) : Cheshire Homes Chandigarh observed the World Disabled Dayon Sunday by providing various aids and appliances to the physically challenged.

Gurdip Singh Deep, Chairman of Cheshire Homes, informed that 21 differently abled people were provided cerebral palsy chairs, wheel chairs, tricycle, bicycles, hearing aides, calipers, etc, as well as five sewing machines.

Dr. S.S. Gill, former Vice Chancellor of Baba Farid Medical University and an orthopedician, Dr. Raj Bahadur, renowned orthopedic surgeon, from PGI, Director Social Welfare Tilak Raj, and Regional Manager State Bank of India, Madhukar Anand, gave away the appliances to the needy.

A multispeciality medical checkmup camp was organized on the occasion and nearly 150 physically challenged were examined by team of doctors from GMCH Sector 32 and Max Hospital.

The event was supported by Rotary and Inner Wheel Clubs of Chandigarh Midtown, and State Bank of India.
