NewZNew (S.A.S. Nagar) : During the Press Conference Sh. Paramjit Singh Gill, IPS, IGP Zone-I, Punjab, Patiala Said that Mohali Police was succeeded in sarving a blind murder and have arrested the accused person.
On 28.10.2014 Sh. Balwinder Singh s/o Sh. Sadhu Singh r/o House No. HE 154 Phase-9, Mohali reported in Police Station Phase-8 Mohali that his grand son (daughter’s son) Mehram Sandhu about 6 years who was playing in locality park, suddenly around 6 PM he was kidnapped. Mr. Balwinder Singh that maternal grand father of the kidnapped kid said that his daughter Harwinder Kaur got married with Varinderpal Singh s/o Nirmal Singh r/o Ranjit Nagar Kharar. After marriage couple went to Australia where his daughter gave birth to Mehram Sandhu. Thereafter differences crop up between husband and wife. Then his son-in-law sent back his daughter and grandson to India, My son-in-law was used to threaten my daughter on phone that he will get him and his grandson kidnapped. In the kidnapping of Mehram they fully suspected that VarinderPal Singh, his father Nirmal Singh, sister Parminder Kaur and brother-in-law Prabhjit Singh r/o Phase-1, Mohali hand in it. A case FIR No. 163 dated 29.10.2014 u/s 365,506,120B IPC PS Phase-8 Mohali has been registered on the statement of Balwinder Singh regarding that incident the doubt was shown on paternal family,
On that basis paternal family members, quizzed thoroughly.

Ravinderpal Singh I/C Special Branch, SI Satwant Singh SHO, PS Sohana and Inspr. Kulbir Singh SHO PS Phase-8 Mohali, and gave adiquate
Following efforts were put in:-
- Wireless messages issued regarding kidnapping.
- Posters of kid got affixed in public places.
- Search operations conducted.
- Picture got printed in News papers.
- Photos also sent through social Media.
This team put on efforts to locate the boy. On 07.11.2014 an intimation was received on 100 number that a decomposed dead body is lying near dustbin in sector 69, Mohali. Later the body was identified the body of Mehram Sandhu. After the dead body recovered the section 364,302,201 IPC are added.
Thereafter Rs. 5 lac reward was announced for the person who will give intimation about the accused persons.
Thereafter I and Sh. R.K. Jaiswal, IPS, DIG, Rupnagar Range, Rupnagar gave guide lines to SSP, Mohali to trace the accused of Mehram Sandhu’s murder.
- Search operations were conducted in the nearby villages, colonies.
- Technical methods adopted.
- All the Hotels, temples and houses got searched of the city.
- During the course about 2300 suspected persons quizzed thoroughly.
From where the kid kidnapped and from where the dead body was recorved special teams were put there to keep an eye. It had come up that whosoever has kidnapped the kid was known person. From the above circumstances it was persumed that person has to be from neighbourhood or of nearby area. It was verified that before kidnapping the boy remained in contect with which persons. During the course of investigation Tejinder Singh @ Ganju s/o Sher Singh r/o House No. HE 147 Phase -9 Mohali age about 26 years (a neighbour) on identification has been arrested in the case today. The accused Tejinder Singh during the preliminary interrogation confessed that he on the pretext of getting the kid choclate and toffees kidnapped him and took in to Singh Saheedan Guruduwara Sahib Sohana for seeking ransom . Meanwhile the family of the child inform the local Police regarding the kidnapping. He got affraid of and he killed the child and dumped the dead body near dustbin opposite to above Gurudwara Sahib in the area of sector 69, Mohali.
After killing the child the accused Tejinder Singh visited the above site thrice and took precaution that he kept his mobile phone switched off on every visit. Further quizzing is going on.
