NewZNew (S A S Nagar) : Taking a step ahead towards facilitating the poor & weak cadre of the society, Govt. of Punjab has increased the limit treatment facility from Rs. 30000 per year to Rs. 50000 per year under Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Bima Yojna. This will provide direct benefit to 80 thousand blue card holder families.
Elaborating this Additional Deputy Commissioner Smt. Punamdeep Kaur said that under the Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Bima Yojna Blue cards will be provided to the eligible and as on now blue cards has been provided to 21 thousand families. It is also mentioned at here that the work for issuing blue cards in under progress in the district. she said that smart card holders could avail the treatment facility in any of the reputed Govt. or Non-Govt. hospital approved by Punjab Govt. She said that the scheme will be implemented from January 2016 and the process for providing smart cards will be got completed by end of December. She said that besides this under Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Bima Yojna there is a provision for compensation amounting to Rs. 5 lacs to the family members in case of any mishap with the head of the family.
Additional Deputy Commissioner said that it is mandatory to get Smart card by blue card holder family members under Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Bima Yojna. She further said that for more information regarding the scheme toll free number 104 could be contacted. She said that all the SDMs have been directed to ensure village level monitoring of work of issuing smart cards under the scheme. During this Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr. Balwinder Singh said that this scheme will facilitate free treatment facility worth Rs. 50 thousand. She said that now Dialysis, Chemotherapy, Ears & Dental checkups for which hospital admission is not required, has been included for the scheme.
