Launches of new technology and live surgeries mark Day one
NewZNew (Chandigarh) : 1st Elite Arthroplasty Congress 2015, organized by Max Elite Institute of Orthopedics and Joint Replacement took off today at Hotel JW Marriott here. One of its kind event in the field of Arthroplasty includes participation of over 300 Arthroplasty surgeons besides designer surgeons of latest implants which were launched for the first time at the conference. The implants were not just launched for the first time in north India but demonstrated to participating delegates through live surgeries.
Beginning early morning, the day one covered 12 sessions on topics ranging from new advancements in Arthroplasty, insights on various procedures and new practices. Theme of the Congress is ‘Human care built on Technology’. Early in the day, there was highly engaging panel discussion on the topic ‘Tips for primary Total Knee Replacement’. Renowned Arthroplasty surgeons including Dr. Wolfgang Klauser, Francesco Falez, A Pispati , Akhil Dadi, Nilen Shah and IPS Oberoi. The panelists shared tips and discussed various facts about total knee replacement surgery.

The inaugural day of the conference marked two implant launches namely ‘3D Knee’, a high flexion total knee replacement and ‘Short Modular Femoral’ (SMF) Hip System that enables patient to walk on the same day while providing the stability of the traditionally longer, more invasive implant. Both of these implants were launched for the first time in India and demonstrated live through surgeries. Besides, a revolutionary technique, ‘Persona Knee’, which provides uncompromising fit and intuitive alignment accuracy was showcased. Designer surgeon, Dr. Wolfgang Klauser, who is the brain behind the technology demonstrated the techniques to participating delegates through a live surgery.
Dr. Wadhwa, is a reputed name in the field who is spearheading the entire event. With advancement in medical field, the reach has increased immensely but the enhancing longevity is the need of hour. The conference focuses on exactly that as the experts and doctors talk about how advanced technology in medical science can bring in long lasting implants which also ensure less bone loss and early recovery of patients.
