Shows like ‘Elfen Lied‘ and ‘Prison School’ are just a couple of examples of anime series that avoid nothing when it comes to nudity. If you have watched anime for a decent amount of time, then you probably know how extreme most of these shows can get.

However, Netflix has held itself back all this time when it comes to depicting nudity in anime. The prime focus of the streaming platform was always to produce anime content that is suitable for all ages. But recently, Netflix has expanded the list of anime shows by quite a margin, and surprisingly, many of these have nudity. There are also some Netflix originals like ‘Devilman Crybaby’ that take graphic nudity to a whole new level.

22. Tougen Anki: Dark Demon of Paradise/Tougen Anki (2025- )

An adaptation of the manga series by Yura Urushibara, ‘Tougen Anki: Dark Demon of Paradise/Tougen Anki’ represents the struggle of the descendants of Oni- demons who preyed on humans, and Momotaro, the man who killed the Oni, the inspiration of the popular Japanese folklore known as ‘Momotaro.’ This series follows Shiki Ichinose, who resides with his foster father. One day, he is attacked by a man who is related to the Momotaro Agency. He later learns that his pursuers are descendants of the folk hero Momotaro, and that he has Oni blood running in his veins. 21. Sakamoto Days (2025-)

Taro Sakamoto is an ordinary family man who runs a convenience shop with his wife. They also have a daughter. Of late, he has gained a lot of weight, but it hasn’t affected his strength. The reason we mention his strength is that he is a former hitman, renowned in the world of assassins for his skills and power. When faces from the past show up, Sakamoto realizes he must summon his dormant “talents” and stop them from coming close to his family. Heavy on no-holds-barred action and gore, thanks to Sakamoto engaging his powerful enemies, ‘Sakamoto Days’ is based on the eponymous manga series by Yuto Suzuki. You can watch it here.

20. Dragon’s Dogma (2020)

In ‘Dragon’s Dogma,‘ a man named Arisen gets resurrected after being killed by the fire breath of a dragon that also killed his wife and child. He then accompanies the woman who brought him back to life to find the dragon and kill it. He finds himself facing all kinds of monsters, but he did not stop until they are all dead, and he finds the very dragon that started it all. 19. Baban Baban Ban Vampire (2025-)

Based on Hiromasa Okujima’s manga series of the same name, ‘Baban Baban Ban Vampire’ follows a 450-year-old vampire named Ranmaru Mori who lusts for the blood of an 18-year-old virgin and finds 15-year-old Rihito to be his perfect “candidate.” All Ranmaru has to do is wait for 3 more years. Unfortunately, things get complicated when the kid hits puberty and falls in love with a girl in his class. It is up to Ranmaru to ensure that the kid doesn’t lose his virginity, no matter how many strings he has to pull. Thus begins his desperate “Operation Virginity Loss Prevention”! ‘Baban Baban Ban Vampire’ is an entertaining anime that goes no-holds-barred in its R-rated content, all of which contribute to the show’s very motivation. 18. Dandadan (2024- )

Based on the manga series by Yukinobu Tatsu, ‘Dandadan’ follows the story of high school classmates Momo Ayase and Ken Takakura as they try to test their respective beliefs regarding ghosts and aliens and instead find themselves fighting them. Supernatural powers and possession enable them to put up with the shrewd nature of the occult and the metaphysical. Created by Fūga Yamashiro, ‘Dandadan’ is an engaging anime that manages to strike an intelligent balance between humor and action in the most visually striking manner, strictly for adults. 17. Jujutsu Kaisen (2020-)

An anime adaptation of Gege Akutami’s eponymous manga, ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ is about a high schooler, Yuji Itadori, who, to save a friend’s life, devours the “finger” of a demon, Sukuna, the King of Curses, getting cursed in the process. Now, with his days numbered, Yuji finds himself guided by jujutsu sorcerer Satoru Gojo and gets admitted into the Tokyo Jujutsu High School of Sorcery. With this, his journey begins to locate the other “fingers” of Sukuna to cleanse himself of the curse, if that’s even possible. Problem is, he shares a body with Sukuna. 16. Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre (2023)

Helmed by Shinobu Tagashira, this horror anthology series presents 20 great manga stories created by the well-known horror manga artist Junji Ito. Each story is engaging and introduces different, very interesting characters. This series thereby is considered one of the greatest anthologies which OTT has on offer for viewers. 15. Terminator Zero (2024- )

‘Terminator Zero’ has a fresh and thrilling take on the ‘Terminator’ universe; it does a far better job incorporating the elements that constitute the very fabric of the Terminator universe than the last few movies of the franchise. James Cameron and Gale Anne Hurd’s series takes place in 1997 in Tokyo, only a day or two before Judgment Day. Malcolm Lee has spent his entire career building an AI system called Kokoro that can help thwart Skynet and save humanity from extinction. But Kokoro, having learned and adapted to everything about humans, is deeply conflicted about the necessity of the species’ existence. Meanwhile, there is a ruthless Terminator and a resistance fighter who are sent to 1997 from 2022 for different purposes. 14. Blue Eye Samurai (2023 -)

‘Blue Eye Samurai’ is arguably the best action anime in Netflix’s current catalog. While there is a lot of drama and exciting fight sequences that make the series memorable, the anime has some steamy sequences that complement the show’s overall narrative and help the viewers understand the characters better. None of these sexually charged moments are unnecessary or have been overdone as they go perfectly with the flow of the story and leave a deep impression on the viewer. But because of them, the show is definitely not something a younger audience should watch. ‘Blue Eye Samurai’ takes the viewers to Japan’s Edo Period. The protagonist has suffered immensely in her life and is burning with the desire for revenge. As she sets out to teach people responsible for the dark periods in her life a lesson, she is also challenged to dig deeper into her soul to find out who she really is. 13. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (2022)

In the Free State of California, lies the self-sufficient but crime-infested metropolis Night City that is completely overrun by cybernetic implants and corruption. The city is divided into several districts, each of which is owned by mega-corporations that are quite greedy. Of all of them, Santo Domingo is the poorest with the worst living conditions. David Martinez, having spent most of his life in the slums there, wants to one day be part of the world’s leading security corporation, Arasaka, to make his mother proud. However, following an unfortunate incident, he finds himself being pushed into the dark world of black market mercenaries instead. ‘Cyberpunk: Edgerunners’ is a gripping tale full of drama, action, and emotion. Its strong storytelling also touches on several mature themes. To that end, it features several sensually charged scenes as well. 12. Baki (2018 -)

Baki Hanma wants to become the most muscular man in the world, a title currently held by his own father. So when, after winning a brutal underground tournament, he decides to pursue that goal, he is met with surprising news. It turns out that some of the most dangerous martial artists who are on death row have managed to escape prison and are heading to Tokyo, desperate to know the taste of defeat. Since Baki is such a well-known fighter, he is warned that he will definitely be one of their many targets. ‘Baki’ captures the action-packed drama that unfolds as martial artists from the dark underground world meet well-respected and adored martial artists of Japan. The Shounen series offers viewers a captivating tale of the competitive spirit of men in combat sports. While the adrenaline rush from the show is enough to entertain viewers, the show also has some steamy moments that can add to the overall appeal of the anime. ‘Baki’ does not shy away from explicit moments at all, and the viewers get an intense lovemaking scene between Baki and Kozue. 11. Bastard!! Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy (2022 -)

When the Four Lords of Havoc attack the kingdom of Metallicana, its inhabitants know that they will not stop at anything until they get what their twisted heart desires. When the chips are down, the tough decision of what to do must be made by High Priest Geo, who

can use the mighty wizard Dark Schneider, former ally of the Four Lords of Havoc against the threat they pose. Of course, the danger exists that he may end up joining them, which would be disastrous for the fate of the kingdom. Ultimately, Geo decides to trust Schneider, but it is clear that he has his own plans. The action-laden drama which follows thereafter makes ‘Bastard!! Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy’ one of the best series in its category on Netflix. The surprising thing about this series is that it does not refrain from using sexually charged scenes to tell its dramatic story. Few anime series have as much female nudity as Bastard!! 10. Kakegurui (2017)}

Gauss Elimination ‘Kakegurui‘ is an extremely engaging anime that revolves around the subtle art of gambling. It centers around a very famous school known as the Hyakkaou Private Academy, where, during the day, the students follow a very typical educational format. But as soon as the sun starts to sink into the horizon and darkness begins to lurk

in, the corridors of the school are turned into ruthless gambling games. The whole idea behind this is to prepare the students for the brutal real world where life in itself is an everyday gamble. While most kids are determined to do well at these gambling activities just to get their grades up, a new transfer student named Yumeko Jabami completely changes the game. Yumeko is passionate about gambling, and it’s this passion that later drives her to expose all the corrupt higher powers of the school that have taken control of the games. ‘Kakegurui‘ is an intense anime that uses its nudity and Ecchi to portray how obsessed the protagonist is with gambling. She loves it so much that it almost gives her orgasms. For many anime shows these days, especially the ones that belong to the Harem genre, fanservice is more of a selling point. But ‘Kakegurui’ is an excellent example of how nudity can actually be used in a way that not only lures a younger male audience but also conveys an important message. You can watch the anime here.

9. The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf (2021)

A dark fantasy action movie, ‘The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf’ is based on a fantasy novel by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski. The movie traces the life of Vesemir, a witcher who slays monsters for coins, quite aware of the horrors of abject poverty from his life in early childhood. Though undefeatable in most of his fights, when a new menace arises, the hero must confront the demons of his past and face his fears. 8. One Piece (1999 -)

‘One Piece’ doesn’t need an introduction for anime fans as it is one of the big three anime that took over the world in the golden age of Jump and is still arguably the most popular show on the planet. The Shounen anime follows the exploits of the self-motivated Monkey D. Luffy as he embarks on his ambitious journey to get his hands on the titular treasure and earn the title of the King of the Pirates. The intricately developed premise and action-packed adventure of the show have been the reason for the show’s success over the decades. While discussing the series, it is rarely mentioned that the show has no dearth of raunchy moments which could be alluring to some viewers. 7. Japan Sinks: 2020 (2020)

The Mutou family leads a very ordinary and peaceful life in the working-class suburbs of Tokyo. While they have their own personal struggles, nothing could prepare them for the ominous earthquake striking the whole Japanese archipelago and setting off a chain of events that might eventually lead to society’s collapse in the East Asian country. As traumatized citizens run for their lives, each decision becomes important because Japan has started to sink. While this near-apocalyptic drama is great to see, it also features a ton of sexually provocative scenes that should be seen by only a mature audience. You can stream the anime here.

6. Ōoku: The Inner Chambers (2023 -)

Taking viewers to the Edo period Japan, ‘Ōoku: The Inner Chambers’ narrates a story of the alternate history of the country wherein the Redface Pox disease that preys on men annihilates 3/4 of the male population within just eight decades. In such a crisis, the power centers of the society that are traditionally controlled by men shift into women’s hands- including that of the Shogun. Interestingly, unlike other ordinary women, the Shogun gets to keep a harem of men with her. As the premise would suggest, the show doesn’t hesitate in tackling mature subjects and there are sex scenes too. However, they have been criticized for being devoid of chemistry. 5. Devilman Crybaby (2018)

‘Devilman Crybaby‘ is a dark fantasy anime on Netflix which is well-known because of its nudity and violence. The series follows the story of a young cowardly boy who later turns into a demonic bad-ass after a demon tries to possess him. With the hard exterior of a demon and the heart of a sensitive child, he becomes what one may call the “Devilman Crybaby.” Apart from having a reasonably engaging concept, ‘Devilman Crybaby’ is the perfect depiction of how some anime shows have no chill. If you’re a big fan of shows that involve extreme graphic nudity and violence, then this is one anime you should not miss out on. 4. Yasuke (2021 – )

There aren’t many shows similar to ‘Yasuke’ in terms of its unique storytelling along with the action-packed scenes. A reminder of anime classics such as ‘Samurai Champloo,’ the historical fantasy show is set in an alternate reality and focuses on the titular protagonist who happens to be the only black samurai warrior in the region during 16th century feudal Japan. 3. The Seven Deadly Sins (2014 – 2020)

A whole Kingdom gets taken over by a group of tyrants and that’s when, out of desperation, the princess of the kingdom is forced to look for the disbanded group of evil knights known as the “Seven Deadly Sins“. With her kingdom on the verge of being

completely destroyed, she hopes that these knights will be able to help her out. From some hilarious comic moments to badass shounen fight scenes to an exciting plot that slowly grows on you, ‘The Seven Deadly Sins’ has it all. The best thing about it is that, unlike other battle anime, its fight scenes always have a backstory and are not just randomly placed throughout its runtime. But apart from all of these aspects, the show is also a little infamous for its use of fanservice and nudity. While many viewers seem to be okay with its adult content, there are others who complain about how it normalizes the whole idea of sexual harassment. So it’s not exactly the kind of show you would want to go for if you only want to watch some good fan service. But otherwise, it’s a great show for anyone who’s into long-running anime. 2. Castlevania (2017 – 2021)

Based on a gothic horror game by Konami of the same name, ‘Castlevania’ is a dark fantasy series that introduces viewers to a world of vampires, magic, and mythical creatures. While the show is known for its action-packed fight scenes and engrossing premise, it also has a ton of 18+ content inappropriate for a young audience. Apart from the implied sex scene between Sipha and Trevor, there is also an episode where Lenore seduces Hector, and the two end up engaging in a session of intense lovemaking.
