24th Sr. National Wushu Championship inaugurated by Prem Singh Chandumajra

NewZNew (Chandigarh) : 24TH senior national wushu championship inaugurated here on Saturday under the aegis of the Wushu Federation of India at Panjab University, Chandigarh with great enthusiasm. Oath taking ceremony was also held whereby all the players took oath of fair play and in true sportsmanship.  Mr Prem Singh Chandumajra, Member of Parliament, was the chief guest of the opening ceremony.

Around 1000 players and officials of 29 States and 7 union territories and teams from SSB, SSCB, CRPF, ITBP and all India Police are participating in 5-day championship.

While speaking on the occasion of opening ceremony Prem Chand Chandumajra has congratulated the players for competing in the championship in large number belonging to different states and departments across the country. He also wished the Chandigarh contingent very best while declaring the championship open before a large crowd of spectators.
An interesting Wushu demonstration show was also held by the national and international Wushu players. A colourful Bhangra (Dhola_ was also presented at the end of the opening ceremony. K.S Bharati President, Chandigarh Wushu Association also welcomed all the participants.
Other who present on the dais were Bhupinder Singh Bajwa, President WFI, Jagdeep Singh, DG, Sports, Haryana, Sandeep Kadam, President, Wushu Association of Himachal Pradesh, Dr Parminder Singh, Director, Sports, Panjab University, Suhail Ahmad, Secretary WFI.
