NewZNew (Bathinda) : 91.91 percent of payment for the wheat procured from the grain markets of Bathinda district has been made to the commission agents. Total payment of Rs 1084.56 cr was due to be paid for the wheat procured till May 14 evening of which Rs 996.83 cr payments has been made.
Giving this information today the Deputy Commissioner Dr Basant Garg stated that as per the figures of procurement, payments made and lifting received from the procurement agencies, till May 13 evening 779340 MT of wheat’s arrival was recorded of which 99.64 percent has been procured. He added that of 588003 MT of wheat has been lifted which is 79.35 percent of the arrival.
He added that the procurement agencies have been directed to ensure that the procured wheat was lifted as soon as possible so that the crop does not get damaged due to inclement weather.
The District Food and Supplies Controller Mr AP Singh giving details of the payments agency wise said that Pungrain has made 95.03 percent payments, Markfed has made 92.19 percent of payments, Punsup has made 92.29 percent payments, Punjab State Warehouse Corporation has made 95.37 percent payments, Punjab Agro has made 98.88 percent payments and the Food Corporation of India (FCI) has made 83.18 percent of payments.
Similarly, the Pungrain has lifted 80.24 percent of wheat procured, Markfed has lifted 78.86 percent of wheat procured, Punsup has lifted 75.51 percent wheat, Punjab State Warehouse Corporation has lifted 79.20 percent, Punjab Agro has lifted 80.85 percent and FCI has lifted 82.15 percent of procured wheat. He added that the Deputy Commissioner has directed that the remaining procured grains should also be lifted soon.
