AIIMS, New Delhi has scheduled the AIIMS MBBS entrance exam result declaration for June 14. If everything falls in line, AIIMS MBBS result will be announced this Wednesday. The result date (14 June 2017) is as per the tentative schedule for the entrance exam and the Institute will make a formal announcement regarding the same shortly. The MBBS entrance exam results will be placed on the official website www.aiimsexams.org.
AIIMS MBBS entrance exam has been kept outside the purview of NEET and facilitates admissions in the MBBS course offered across 7 AIIMS. The entrance exam was conducted as an online exam on May 28 in two shifts and collectively around 3.5 lakh medical aspirants took the test. The result declaration will open up the admission process for around 700 MBBS seats in 7 AIIMS institutions.
As per the process adopted by AIIMS, the MBBS entrance result will be placed online at the official website so that the candidates can check their result. In 2016, the MBBS entrance exam was held on May 29, while the result was scheduled to be announced on June 14. The Institute had not given any time for the result declaration and only the date was notified. As it was witnessed last year, the results were actually announced after 5 pm. The same can be expected this year too, we will keep a tab on it and will notify the updates here.
In order to get selected through AIIMS MBBS entrance exam, the candidates are required to reach the minimum cut-off scores. The minimum cut off marks for general category remains 50%, while it is 45% for OBC and 40% for SC/ ST candidates. Since the exam has been conducted in two shifts, Normalization procedure will be used to level the scores and decided on the ranking of candidates. The Percentile score corresponding to the cut-offs will be used to determine the eligibility.
The Institute will also publish the list of qualified candidates eligible for the 1st round of counselling. The lists will be uploaded in two parts; Rank Wise and Roll Number wise. The admissions in AIIMS institutions will be made through 3 rounds of counselling, with the first counselling scheduled to be held from July 3 to 6. The other two rounds of counselling will be organized on August 3 and September 5. If the seats still remain vacant, an open counselling round will be conducted on September 27.
AIIMS MBBS 2017 Merit List
The merit list will comprise of the top scorers based on the MBBS entrance exam. From the list, as much as 2800 candidates will be called for the 1st round of counselling, four times the actual number of seats. AIIMS MBBS merit list will mention the roll number, name, category, overall rank and counselling date of the shortlisted candidates for the 1st round of counselling.
To participate in the counselling, the candidates will have to report and exercise the choice of the Institute. The candidates will called for counselling as per their rank in their respective category.
