4. The Tiger (TBA)

Alexander Skarsgård: All New Movies and TV Shows in 2025 and 2026

‘The Tiger’ is a soon-to-be-released thriller directed by Myroslav Slaboshpytskyi, who made a name for himself with his 2014 release ‘The Tribe.’ It is based on John Valliant’s novel of the same name. Against the freezing landscapes of north-eastern Russia in the late 90s, this true-story-based drama takes a cue from John Vaillant’s book, revolving around the Tiger Team – a group of men who are dedicated to protecting endangered tigers. The story heightens when their commander, Vanzin (Skarsgård), is faced with a moral choice: to kill a revenge-seeking tiger that has fatally struck back against a poacher. This is not a case of man against beast; this is a complex network of revenge, morals, and survival.

In addition to Skarsgård’s Vanzin, Dane DeHaan is cast as Kanchuga, the team’s young environmental scientist who struggles with the moral implications of the mission. Interestingly, the long-developing film features producers Darren Aronofsky, Dede Gardner, Ari Handel, Mark Heyman, Jeremy Kleiner, and Brad Pitt in a collaboration that the cinematic community eagerly awaits. The story, as it delves into the confluence of predator and protector, offers ‘The Tiger’ a plunge into the human mind and the intricacies of moral decisions. The movie is in pre-production.
