Amway Invests $4M in Four Research & Development Labs Across India: Advancing its focus on strengthening scientific capabilities to provide cutting-edge, next-generation support in health and wellbeing, Amway, a global company, formally introduced its four state-of-the-art Research & Development (R&D) labs across India with an investment of $4 million.
By harnessing advanced technology, contemporary science and thought leadership, these labs are poised to redefine industry standards by developing safe, effective, differentiated and high-quality health and wellbeing products with the aim to support people in India and around the world.
India is the location of one of the four Amway R&D hubs, worldwide. This strategic move is in line with Amway’s efforts to cater to the evolving needs of consumers empowering millions to achieve optimal wellbeing and fostering a healthier future for all.
Amway’s four state-of-the-art R&D labs in Gurugram, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Dindigul collectively total 24,700 square feet, creating a powerhouse of scientific discovery and breakthrough product development.

These labs are equipped to develop product solutions in Foods, Oral solids, Beauty and Personal care segments with premium botanical ingredients for nutrition and skin applications.
About the Research & Development Labs
Nutrition, Beauty, Analytical, Packaging labs, Gurugram
The Gurugram facility, spanning 14,000 sq.ft., houses Amway’s Nutrition, Beauty, Analytical, and Packaging labs. This state-of-the-art center provides a cutting-edge environment for a multi-disciplinary team of scientists. Equipped with modern infrastructure, the lab supports critical tasks including developing novel formulations in dietary supplements, ayurveda, beauty, and personal care segments. It also has in-house capabilities for conducting stability studies, analytical testing, researching new test methods, and advancing packaging development. This comprehensive facility significantly enhances Amway’s capacity for innovation and product excellence in the Indian market.
Food Research Lab, Chennai
Amway’s first global food-tech facility, the Food Research Lab, spanning 1500 sq.ft., is poised to unlock new growth opportunities in the health and nutrition segment. This innovative center focuses on developing novel food formats with a plant-forward and clean-label approach. The lab specializes in designing robust, innovative products such as gummies, jellies, nutrition bars, powder formats, and ready-to-consume items. These developments are tailored for the markets of India, Indonesia, and Brazil, reflecting Amway’s commitment to addressing diverse nutritional needs with cutting-edge food technology.
Nutrition pilot plant – Solid dosage & Food Technology, Dindigul
The Nutrition pilot plant – Solid dosage & Food technology lab, spanning 6200 sq.ft., will focus on performing process innovations and developmental activities for India and other emerging markets. This Pilot lab facility is the first of its kind with the capability to scale up Food formulations i.e., Gummies, Bars and Oral solids with Bilayer Tablet technology. The primary purpose of the pilot plants is to understand and design product specifications through Process Analytical techniques and a ‘Quality by Design’ approach that is stable, robust, and reproducible.
Botanical Innovation Centre, Bengaluru
The Botanical Innovation Centre, spanning 3000 sq.ft., reinforces Amway’s commitment to plant-forward and sustainable innovation. This facility specializes in designing and developing premium botanical ingredients for both nutrition and skincare applications. With a focus on Ayurvedic, traditional, and exotic plant sources, the lab employs advanced technologies for development, formulation and characterization of herbal ingredients. Additionally, it provides crucial phytochemistry research support, enhancing Amway’s capability to create natural, effective products that align with modern consumer preferences for plant-based and environmentally conscious solutions.
Addition to Botanical Innovation centre, Amway has established Nutrilite Research Farm about 40 km from Bangalore, where a team of agricultural scientists are working on developing cultivation practices for wild botanicals. They are also optimizing organic methods for conventionally grown botanicals in collaboration with Amway’s global agricultural scientists.
