Robyn Rihanna Fenty was born on February 20, 1988, in Saint Michael, Barbados. She is of Afro-Barbadian, Afro-Guyanese, and Irish descent. She grew up in a rocky home environment due to her father’s alcoholism and crack cocaine addiction, turning to music as a solace.
After being discovered in Barbados by American record producer Evan Rogers, he brought her to the United States, where she recorded demos and was signed to Rogers’ and Carl Sturken’s production company, Syndicated Rhythm Productions.

Real Estate
In 2009, Rihanna paid $6.9 million for a mansion in Beverly Hills. The stunning house boasted lots of glass, high ceilings, and wood floors and had a chic, modern feel that seemed like a perfect match for the then-21-year-old singing sensation.
The 10,000-square-foot home boasted eight bedrooms and ten bathrooms. Stunning views of the valley below, floor-to-ceiling windows, a massive backyard with a pool, a tiled terrace, a stunning open-plan kitchen with all new fixtures, and a media room, among many other luxury amenities, made the house seem like the ultimate rock-star pad. Unfortunately, the home also had a massive water leakage problem, among other issues.
In 2011, Rihanna put the seemingly possessed house on the market for a significant reduction in price, $4.5 million. Simultaneously, she filed a lawsuit claiming that she was told the home was in excellent condition when she purchased it and was not aware of the structural problems.
These problems include a balcony that slopes strangely and basically drains any rainwater directly into the house. In 2012, she accepted $5.03 million for the home. The next owner repaired the water issues and sold the mansion in 2014 for $7.6 million. In January 2016, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen paid $14.1 million for the mansion. They listed the home for $22 million in 2021, ultimately accepting $16.8 million a few months later. Here’s a video tour of this home:
From 2013 to 2017, Rihanna paid a reported $50,000 per month to rent a penthouse in Manhattan, New York. She then moved to England, where she rented a home in West London for $20,000 per month.
In October 2014, Rihanna paid $5.545 million for a condo in LA’s Century City neighborhood.
In 2017, she bought a home in the Hollywood Hills. About a year after purchasing the property, she had a frightening break-in. Six months later, she listed the property for sale for $7.5 million. She eventually began offering it as a rental for as much as $35,000 per month. She sold this home in August 2022 for $6.6 million.
She reportedly also owns a $22 million property in Barbados.
In March 2021, Rihanna paid $13.8 million for a home in Beverly Hills. A month later, she paid $10 million for the house immediately next door.
In April 2023, it was revealed that Rihanna purchased a 9,300-square-foot home in Los Angeles called the “Mansion in the Sky” for $21 million. She listed this property for sale in March 2024 for a bit under $25 million. She sold it in May 2024.
