NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Putting an end to the race among cities to land on the list of 100 smart cities, the Urban Development Ministry today announced the names of 98 cities being selected for the NDA government’s flagship Smart City project. It is a moment of pride as the collective efforts of the Chandigarh Administration and citizens have paid off, with Chandigarh making it to the list of 100 smart cities. The selection was done through intra-city competition which evaluated the various cities on parameters such as service levels, financial and institutional capacity, past track record and reforms.
It has been a great achievement for the City Beautiful-Chandigarh as it comes a step closer to becoming a “Smart City” by passing the Stage-I of the “Smart City Mission”.
