Some special offers for students like scholarship, application fee waiver and on the spot admissions etc. will also be made. Latest information on student visa processing, minimum English language & Academic requirement will also be shared with the prospective students”, Said Mr. Rahul Paitka, MD, Charms Education & Immigration Services.
International Recruitment Heads said at the press meet that new developments are being witnessed in Canadian education. Some top Universities like University of Waterloo can give waiver for IELTS if the prospective student’s score in English is excellent. Another trend noticed among Indian students going to Canada is the inclination for courses like Journalism, Psychology, and Criminology etc. This is in addition to a heavy demand for engineering, medical, information technology and business areas.
Mr Paitka further added, “Canada has come up as a destination where education is more affordable than other countries. The amount of paper work to be done is a bare minimum & no old funds need to be shown. A student has to deposit $ 10,000 in GIC (Guaranteed Investment Certificate) account through the student’s own saving bank account. What’s more, students can work up-to 20 hours part time per week off campus.
Some interesting statistics were revealed. Canada is looking for 400,000 students by the end of year 2022 from all over the World, with India being the one of the major source countries. In total, Canada enrolled more than 31,000 Indian students in 2013, making India the second-largest source country (second only to China) of international students in Canada that year. Another fact is that Canadian Government is focusing on Indian students as they contribute to the Canadian economy in a major way. The estimated expenses made by Indian students in Canada, is a whopping $ 917.6 Million every year which works to $ 31,720 per student per annum.
