NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Cox & Kings Global Services (CKGS), has announced the opening of Vietnam Visa Facilitation Centre (VFAC), in Chandigarh (Punjab) today. The Centre is authorized to collect the tourist visa applications from Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. All visa applications will continue to be assessed and processed by the Embassy of Vietnam in New Delhi. The Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in India has authorised CKGS to accept visa applications at their centre with effect from August 10, 2015.

The Centre was inaugurated this afternoon by His Excellency Mr. Ton Sinh Thanh, the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to India in the presence of the select senior officials of CKGS. CKGS is the only authorised visa service provider for Vietnam in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh

Speaking on the occasion, His Excellency Mr Ton Sinh Thanh, said, ”Facilitation of visa application for Indian citizens, especially whom are living far from Delhi, is one of priorities of our Embassy during 2015. At the beginning of this year, we authorized a visa facilitation center in Kolkata, two visa facilitation centers in Hyderabad and Chennai and now the visa facilitation center in Chandigarh and in next days in Jaipur and Ahmedabad. These visa facilitation centers, however, do not replace the role of the Embassy because all applications will continue to be processed and issued by our Embassy. These centres will save time and money for Indian citizens in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh because they can apply for Vietnamese visa directly from Chandigarh. In the same time, the Embassy has also reduced the time of processing and issuing visas. Altogether, these measures will certainly facilitate Indian travelers who want to come and visit our country”.

The applicants would have to visit the centre to submit their applications and collect them once the visa has been issued. The whole process will take approximately five working days.

For obtaining a visa, an applicant will have to submit his passport and a copy of it along with the application form and the visa fees. The tourist visa is valid for one month and it is a single entry visa.
