CP Delhi fame Kake Da Hotel expands footprint in Amritsar with new restaurant With the opening Amritsar now has 3 Kake Da Hotel outlets: Amritsar’s culinary landscape has just become richer with the arrival of a new branch of Kake Da Hotel opposite Guru Nanak Dev University.
Connaught Place (CP) Delhi fame Kake Da Hotel has opened its doors in Amritsar for food aficionados, with its 3rd restaurant in the city continuing its legacy of serving flavorful dishes.
The new restaurant in Amritsar has opened opposite the Guru Nanak Dev University Scheme, near Khalsa College.
It is to be noted that Kake Da Hotel was founded by the late Sh. Amolak Ram Chopra, affectionately known as Kaka at Lahore in 1931. After partition in 1947, it relocated to Delhi’s iconic Connaught Place. Since then, it has gained a reputation for its unwavering commitment to quality and tradition, attracting everyone from political figures to celebrities and the general public.
Today, the restaurant is led by the late Amolak Ram Chopra’s son Ashok Kaka Chopra and Ashok’s son, Tushar Chopra, representing the second and third generations of the family respectively.
Ashok Kaka Chopra, Tushar Chopra along with their franchise owner of Amritsar outlet Mr Jasdeep Sabharwal, interacted with the media to share details of the new opening at Amritsar.
“Kake Da Hotel is more than just a restaurant; it’s a heritage of taste and tradition passed down through generations,” said Ashok Kaka Chopra. “Our new Amritsar outlet reflects our commitment to sharing this legacy with more people, allowing them to experience our menu that has made us a household name.”
Tushar Chopra said, “The opening of the Amritsar outlet is part of our plan to expand presence across Punjab. We currently have 3 outlets in Amritsar – one at Ranjit Avenue , one at Jandiala (Amritsar toll highway) and the new one near Khalsa College where we are sitting. We are also in Mohali, Jalandhar, Patiala and Chandigarh. I am happy to announce that soon we shall be coming up with restaurants in Tarn Taran, Ludhiana and Zirakpur near Chandigarh.”
The franchise owner of the Amritsar outlets, Jasdeep Sabharwal, said, “The support from Kake Da Hotel’s management has been outstanding. I’m thrilled to open a second outlet spread across 1800 sq feet and with seating for 80 guests.”
The USP of Kake Da Hotel is its commitment to preserving the authentic taste of the 1930’s. Chicken Curry, Dahi Wala Meat, Dal Makhni, Rara Chicken and Meat, Shahi Paneer etc. are some of the signature offerings at Kake Da Hotel. It’s how dishes are prepared that makes Kake Da Hotel different. The restaurant continues to use traditional cooking methods, preparing dishes in copper ‘handi’ and ‘patilas’, slowly cooked over coal. The dal makhani, for example, is cooked overnight on the tandoor for over 12 hours to achieve its rich, deep flavor. This meticulous attention to detail is applied to all their curries, including Chicken Curry and Dahi Wala Meat, which are cooked for hours to ensure the meat is tender and flavorful.
Ashok Kaka Chopra who has devoted over 42 years to refining the restaurant’s offerings, so that the high standards set by his father are maintained said, “Unlike many restaurants that focus on cutting costs, Kake Da Hotel uses desi ghee to enhance the flavors of certain dishes, staying true to its roots.”
With more than 50 outlets across India, Kake Da Hotel remains a cherished name in the world of hospitality, offering a timeless dining experience for patrons that has been preserved through three generations.
