Washington will act in Spike Lee’s ‘Highest 2 Lowest,’ the A24-tied English take on Akira Kurosawa’s crime film of that name, out in 1963. From Ed McBain’s book ‘King’s Ransom,’ it shows a man’s fall due to a big pay to kid folk. Lee & Alan Fox wrote the film script. The film cast has Jeffrey Wright, Dean Winters, Ilfenesh Hadera, Ice Spice, & Michael Potts. The film will come out on Sep. 5, 2025. You can see the film clip here.

2. Here Comes the Flood (TBA)

Denzel will join Robert Pattinson & Daisy Edgar-Jones in the Netflix heist film ‘Here Comes the Flood.’ Made by Fernando Meirelles, it shows a guard, a bank clerk, & a top thief in a twisty game of tricks & two-timings. It is told in parts that jump in time. They plan to film it in fall 2025.

3. Untitled Hannibal Film (TBA)

Denzel Washington will join with his ‘Training Day’ & ‘Equalizer’ film man, Antoine Fuqua, for a new Netflix movie on Hannibal, the Carthaginian war chief. It’s from a text by John Logan, & will show key wars Hannibal led vs the Roman front in the Second Punic War (218 to 201 BC). Under Hannibal’s lead, the Carthage crew got into Italy & won top wins vs the Romans, taking most of south Italy for 15 years. But, Hannibal lost to the Romans at Zama when they came into North Africa. Welket Bungué has also got a spot. The film is just starting, & more news on cast & making of this big film is much waited for.
