NewZNew (Zirakpur) : Megha Gupta a young lady from tricity has introduced a unique Dance fitness form ‘Bokwa’. A demonstration of ‘Bokwa’ was given by Megha & her team at an event – ‘Sunday Funday with Master class’ held at Global Business Park, Zirakpur. Megha Gupta is also an Ambassador of Bokwa India.
For the uninitiated, ‘Bokwa’ is a blend of hip-hop and step aerobics that taps into South African-style dance. The dance steps are actually based on letters, numbers & shapes and not choreography. The movements are in the shape of English-language letters, for example L, J, and C. Moving together to today’s most popular music, participants off all ages draw the Bokwa L, 3, J, K and dozens of other steps. “The programme’s beauty is its simplicity. Because each move is pretty basic, dancers can get as fancy or high-energy as they want or keep it basic. Because the steps are structured as letters and numbers everyone right from a 4-year-old kid to a 75-year-old can do Bokwa.” Said Megha Gupta.
Megha along-with Prabhuram a Bokwa Education Specialist Trainer (B.E.S.T), India, performed some high energy ‘Bokwa’ steps which mesmerized the audience at a Bokwa awareness event held at Zirakpur. The special event also experienced Zumba dance which was conducted by ZJ Aanchal Hans who is a Zumba Jammer from Delhi. The special programme was created to bring families out of their daily routines & get involved in fitness. The children participated in the exciting dance session & also took part in a in a coloring competition. As many as 200 children took part in the competition named ‘Artist of the future.’
Megha summed up, “There is good news for Fitness enthusiasts; we will be coming up soon with a Dance Fitness studio, that will be specializing in ‘Bokwa’ training.”
