NewZNew (Chandigarh) : ‘Zaika Ambarsar Da’ a Food Festival by ‘Amritsar Express’- a quick service outlet of Amritsari Food at Elante Mall, Chandigarh’s Food court, has started. The festival which will be on till June 30; has brought a mouth watering menu of authentic summer time Amritsari Food for those wanting to give their palates a taste of sumptuous recipes from the Holy City, which is known for its rich culinary culture.
Food enthusiasts from the tricity will be able to get a flavor of the Amritsar sitting in Chandigarh. For the benefit of Papad Waddian fans a signature recipe Amritsari Aaloo Waddian & Papad is available. The same goes well with the Dal, Bhartha, Rotis,Salad & Raita which are served with the famous Amritsari dish. Amritsari Firni offered with the order of Aaloo Waddian is a good option to counter the craving for something sweet after your meal. Amritsari Parantha Pizza served with Chutney & Raita is another unique offering which is a must try at the festival. Tandoori Paranthas made with fillings of Aaloo(Potato) & Gobhi(Cauliflower) with toppings of home-made white butter can be a real treat for lovers of Punjabi food, particularly from the ‘Majha’ (Amritsar included) belt of the state. Says Mr. Ritesh Puri, Owner of Amritsar Express, “Keeping in view the sweltering heat; we are serving ‘Lassi Tadkewali’ (Chaach). This will be free of cost and guests at the festival can have an unlimited amount of the same. The Lassi is made by giving a ‘Tadka’ of Mustard Oil, ‘Zeera’ and ‘Dhania’. Looking at very good response in Chandigarh for Amritsari Food we will soon open an outlet in Zirakpur too.”
Some very inviting combos have been laid out at ‘Zaika Ambarsar Da’. Soya Champ Butter Masala is being served with a delectable combination of Dal, Lachha Parantha, Salad & Raita. Amritsari Paneer Butter Masla with Dal & Amritsari Papad is another recipe on the menu card. For Non Vegetarians the festival can be quite engaging. Amritsari Style – Mutton Rogan Josh served with Rotis & salad is irresistible. Special Keema Kaleji, Boti Kebab and Amritsari Kukkad recipes beckon foodies at the festival. The starters at ‘Zaika Ambarsar Da’ are quite filling and have for vegetarians Soya Champ Tikka, Paneer Tikka, Paneer Seekh Kebab and Veg Seekh Kebab all cooked with home ground spices from Amritsar. Non- Vegetarian starters prepared with special Amritsari recipes include Chicken Seekh Kebab, Chicken Malai Tikka, and Chicken Tikka.
