NewZNew (Hoshiarpur) : Four matches of the Fifth Kabaddi World Cup 2014 would be played at Outdoor Sports Stadium at Hoshiarpur on Sunday. Out of these four matches, three would be of men section while one of women section. All the matches would be of pool “B”.
Union Minister Mr. Vijay Kumar Sampla would be the chief guest on the occasion. State’s minister for Jails, Tourism and Cultural Affairs S. Sohan Singh Thandal, CPS (Irrigation) Bibi Mohinder Kaur Josh, CPS (Sports and Youth Services) Mr. Pawan Kumar Teenu, Advisor to CM Punjab Mr. Tikshan Sud, MP Rajya Sabha Mr. Avinash Rai Khanna, MLA S.Surinder Singh Bhullewal Rathan and MLA Smt.Sukhjit Kaur Sahi would be the Guest of Hhonour on the occasion.
First match of the day would be of men section and would be played between Denmark and Canada. After losing to England in the first match, Canada had defeated Argentina in the second match. So for staying afloat in Pool “B”, Canada would have to win this match at every cost.
Second match of the day would be of women section and would be played between England and Mexico. England team would try to win this match as they have already lost both their earlier matches.
Third match of the day would be of men section where England would take on Argentina. The fourth and last match of men section of the day would be played between Pakistan and Sweden.
After the men section matches of Pool “B” in Hoshiarpur, the situation would get clear as to which team reaches semi finals. In this pool, Pakistan and England teams are leading, while the Canada is reeling behind.
Cabinet Minister S. Sohan Singh Thandal and Deputy Commissioner Amit Dhaka visited Outdoor stadium today to have an account of the preparations being made for the players of the world kabaddi cup as well as the viewers. They invited the people to come to see the matches in large numbers. DC directed the officers to perform their duties to the fullest extent so that the matches of world cup could be made a grand success.
