NewZNew (S A S Nagar) : Gurukul World School, Mohali a premier academic institution of the region hosted an innovative art & craft exhibition ‘Anveshan’ at the school premises. The exceptionally talented students of the school under the guidance of the teachers were given different categories and asked to use their imagination to create art-work that was out of the box. The students delivered and the exhibition was applauded by one and all making it a resounding success.
Students of all classes from KG to Class 10 participated in Anveshan. The level of difficulty of the themes allocated kept on increasing with each class. Some of the themes given to the students were: Paper Magic, Rhyme Time, The World of Color, Cartoon All the Way, Aquatica, Mathematical Imagery, Photo Funia, Welcome to Mars, Mehak Purane Punjab Di, Caged & Ghar Ka Vaid.
A room was designated for each theme and the students had to create the ambience in-line with the theme. E.g. inWelcome to Mars the students had re-created Mars like atmosphere and geography in the room, In Mathematical Imagery the concept of reflection taught in Maths was explained through art. There was a imaginative blend of art with science, geography, mathematical concepts, biology etc. Apart from creating the theme, the students also explained their concept & design to the visitors at the exhibition.
Speaking on the occasion Principal of Gurukul World School Ms. Aneela said, “We at Gurukul World School are extremely proud of the effort of our students. Art & craft is an important part of school curriculum, as it breaks the monotony of normal studies while giving wings to their imagination. Anveshan was an opportunity to bring out hidden creative talents of our students through the medium of art. Seeing the parents and guests so happy and amazed with their work is extremely satisfying.”
The exhibition was yet another example of the off-beat yet effective learning methods employed by Gurukul World. Speaking on the occasion, chairman of Gurukul World School Mr. Rajesh Gupta said, “The school’s philosophy has always been clear that we don’t just want to impart bookish knowledge but give our students wholesome education. We the management & faculty constantly look for ways to challenge the minds of our students. Anveshan is in line with that philosophy of ours. It was art and craft but with an imaginative twist that challenged our students aesthetic creativity.”
