The Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, Smt. Harsimrat Kaur Badal inaugurated a five-day Special Exhibition ” Naya Bharat – Karke Rahenge ” ( New India- We Resolve to Make ) Sankalp se Siddhi today at Sector 17, Chandigrh being organized by Directorate of Advertising & Visual Publicity ( DAVP) Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, in collaboration with Union Parliamentary Affairs Ministry and Housing & Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO). She also led the pledge taking ceremony on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering the Minister said the aim of New India campaign is to take six resolves to make country free of corruption, poverty, filth, communalism, terrorism and casteism with full public support, participation and involvement at grass-root level. She urged the people to come forward and work untidily to achieve the goal purposefully and honestly to ensure that developmental benefits of government polices and schemes reach to the last man of queue rising above the petty politics. She called upon the youth, farmers and women to get benefitted by the policies and projects of Food Processing Ministry for increasing their income and business with value addition to their agri products. She said under MUDRA Yojana more than 9 crore people get benefits of loans worth Rs. 13000 crores in which 70 percent beneficiaries are women. It is a matter of pride that India’s population consists of 65 percent youth and their energies should be channalised in right direction for optimal constructive purposes.
Earlier, speaking on the occasion Member Parliament, Smt. Kirron Kher highlighted the importance of the active public participation for the success and proper implementation of the programmes of government.
Welcoming the guests, Shri Jasbir Singh, Regional Chief of HUDCO, Shri Ashish Goyal, Director, Field Publicity, Ministry of I&B highlighted the role of their organizations. Ms. Sapna, Assistant Director, DAVP said that the objective of this exhibition is to publicize and generate awareness about achievements and commitments of the Government of India. This exhibition aims at disseminating the people-friendly policies of the Central Government focusing the poor & the underprivileged, women, youth, farmers etc. The programmes covered would include Financial Inclusion, PM’s Social Security schemes, Digital India, Skill Development etc. Shri Baljit Singh, Assistant Director, Song & Drama Division, Ministry of I&B presented a vote of thanks. As many as eight information stalls are put up in the exhibition by Lead Bank PNB, UIADI (Aadhar), National Institute of Open Schooling, Jan Shikshan Sansthan, Narcotics Control Bureau, DAVP and Foundation for Development & Researach (NGO). The exhibition will remain open for public for five days from 11 AM to 7 PM daily.
A number of Councillors of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation attended the function.
