The online registrations for JEEP counselling has been opened by the Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education Roorkee (UBTER) today. The Joint Entrance Examination Polytechnic (JEEP) was conducted by the Board in May and the results were declared few days back. UBTER has allowed all the candidates who took the entrance exam for participating in the online counselling. To carry out the proceedings of online counselling, a fresh portal has also been set up; ukcounseling.nic.in.
UBTER had conducted the entrance exam on 7th & 8th May wherein expectedly around 1 lakh candidates appeared. The Entrance exam was conducted for merit based admissions to diploma courses in Engineering/ Technology, Pharmacy, Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Modern Office Management & Secretarial Practices, Textile Design, Garment Technology, Fashion Design and PG Diploma in Computer Application (PGDCA). The test also included lateral entry admissions (into 2nd year) of Engineering courses.
As per the seat matrix issued by UBTER, there are 15,694 seats in Engineering Diploma courses being offered at 112 Polytechnics/ Engineering Colleges (2nd shift). The seat matrix for other courses: 469 seats in 11 Pharmacy colleges; 493 seats in 13 colleges for Diploma in Modern Office Management; 216 seats in 3 Institutes for Hotel Management course; 245 seats in 7 Institutes for PGDCA; 110 seats in 1 Institute for Diploma course in Textile Design and 2,471 seats in 78 Colleges for Lateral Entry admission in Engineering courses.
JEEP Counselling in Two Rounds
UBTER will conduct the counselling for diploma courses in two round. Both the rounds will be conducted in online mode. The registrations for first round commenced from today (6th July) and the last date to register is 11th July. The Board will announce the allotment results on 14th July, following which the students will be given time till 21st July to confirm their admission. First round of counselling is open to all the candidates who took the JEEP 2017 exam.
Second round registrations will be done from 25 to 28 July and the allotment result will be declared on 1st August. This round will be for those candidates who could not participated in the first round and also for those candidates who wished for upgradation of allotted seat in the first round.
No Counselling Fee & New Portal
UBTER has announced that the students will not have to pay any fee for JEEP counselling. To participate in the online counselling, the students will have to visit the website ukcounseling.nic.in and register themselves through ‘New Registration’. For fresh registration, the students will have to provide all the details like roll number, application number, date of birth, selected course, etc. Such students will be issued login ID and password through which they will be able to check the allotments.
