5. Murderville (2022)

Adapted from the British sitcom ‘Murder in Successville’ and produced by Krister Johnson, ‘Murderville’ is about the eponymous town where lead police detective Terry Seattle (Will Arnett) is separating from Rhonda Jenkins-Seattle, who is the chief of police. In each episode, Terry is tasked with solving a murder and a new rookie detective. The latter is portrayed by a new guest star as themselves in every episode, who is not given a script and must figure out the actual killer at the end. 4. Duck Butter (2018)

An independent comedy directed by Miguel Arteta, ‘Duck Butter’ is about Nima (Alia Shawkat), an actress working on her first big film that also features Kumail Nanjiani (as himself). Nima struggles to relate to the material and talks to the directors about it, who advise that maybe it is due to a lack of vulnerability on her end. She subsequently heads out to a gay club, where she encounters the vibrant but obscure singer Sergio (Laia Costa). The two become intimate and share with each other the deceit and heartbreaks they have survived. To accelerate their love affair, they make a decision to spend 24 consecutive hours together, having sex hourly. But their desire to forge a new kind of closeness does not exactly unfold as intended. 3. Franklin & Bash (2011-2014)

Developed by Kevin Falls and Bill Chais, ‘Franklin & Bash’ features the story of the two young lawyers, Jared Franklin (Breckin Meyer) and Peter Bash (Mark-Paul Gosselaar). Having won a high-profile case for a client against high-end law firm Infeld & Daniels, LLC, the pair is recruited by its co-founder and managing partner, Stanton Infeld (Malcolm McDowell). Franklin and Bash are set to lead the firm in changing its methodology and bringing new life to it, with their street smarts and legal credentials mixed. Their brief tranquility is disrupted when Nadeem Razmaadi (Kumail Nanjiani) sells them an old orb that releases a mighty evil force. As the city descends into chaos and the world is threatened with a new Ice Age, two generations of Ghostbusters join hands to rescue the world. 1. Lovebirds (2020)

Directed by Michael Showalter, ‘Lovebirds’ revolves around Jibran (Kumail Nanjiani) and Leilani (Issa Rae), a couple whose relationship is as strong as steel, who find themselves involved in murder when they lend their car to a man who fakes being a cop. Afraid of what will happen to them, they chose to run away from the scene of the crime and figure out the murder mystery on their own in order to clear their names.
