Modi has unwavering faith in the Sikh religion: Tandon: Chandigarh BJP Lok Sabha candidate Sanjay Tandon today said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has unwavering faith in the Sikh religion as a devout.Paying his obeisance at the Nanaksar Gurudwara in Sector 28 Tandon said the Sikh Gurus have made an unparalleled contribution for the uplift of the society.
He said for the first time the martyrdom day of the Sahibzadas of the tenth Guru Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji was celebrated worldwide under PM Modi’s stewardship reflecting his genuine connect with Sikhism. On this occasion, Baba Gurudev Singh Ji; Rajya Sabha MP Satnam Sandhu; BJP State Vice President Ramvir Bhatti, former Chandigarh mayor Anup Gupta and state coordinator of media department Arundeep Singh were present.
It is noteworthy that Baba Lakha Singh Ji presented him a Siropa and prayed for his success in the elections. On this occasion, Sanjay Tandon also talked about the work done by the Modi government at the centre in the interest of Sikhism.
Tandon said further that when Taliban occupied Afghanistan, and there was a threat to Guru Granth Sahib’s different froms there; to ensure that these are not desecrated, he brought all the forms of the holy treatise from Afghanistan in a special plane and got these duly installed inside the Gurudwaras in Delhi.
Not only this, the Kartarpur Corridor, which had been a longstanding demand of the followers of Sikhism for years, was created with immediate effect and the path was eased to visit the holy place of the Sikhs’ first Guru – Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Tandon informed that the Modi government celebrated the Prakash Parv of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji with great pomp across the country.
“It is because of Modi’s faith in Sikhism that whenever he gets an opportunity to serve the ‘sangat’ , he considers it a privilege to serve the devotees with his own hands. Modi follows all the teachings given by Guru Sahiban,” said Tandon.
