NewZNew (Bathinda) : The parents should play an important role in putting a full stop on cheating during exams and their contribution can make the government’s efforts in this context successful, said the MP Rajya Sabha Mr Balwinder Singh Bhunder while addressing the zonal level function held under Anti-Cheating Campaign at the Adesh University today. He said that the Anti-Copying Campaign is being run as per the directions of Chief Minister Mr Parkash Singh Badal.
The convener of this campaign Mrs Shruti Shukla said that we will have to associate education with basic human values. Run under convener of this campaign Mrs Shruti Shukla and Chairperson of the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) Dr Tejinder Kaur Dhaliwal , the campaign’s first phase was started from Bathinda in September 2013 and was concluded at Gurdaspur on February 2, 2014. Now under the second phase, entire state has been divided into seven zones and the first zone’s inaugural function was held at Jalandhar with education minister Dr Daljit Singh Cheema as the chief guest.
Chairperson of the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) Dr Tejinder Kaur Dhaliwal said that it was everyone’s responsibility to ensure that children are taught difference between good and bad so that the evil of cheating is curtailed. The MLA Mr Darshan Singh Kotfatta and district education officer Dr Amarjit Kaur Kotfatta were also present at the event.
The other districts of zone Mansa and Sri Muktsar Sahib too participated in this zonal function. Around 1200 students, teachers, principals of high, senior secondary, aided and private and others participated.
Chief guest Mr Bhunder awarded winners of tehsil level competitions of mini marathon, essay writing, declamation and poetical recitation were honored at the event. AEO Faridkot, DEOs of Bathinda, Mansa and Sri Muktsar Sahib, officials of PSEB Komal Singh, Darshan Singh and Rajnish Kumar were present at the event.
