Chandigarh, December 15th, 2015: Pay Point India Network, a fast moving consumer services company which provides online payment solutions, has now joined hands with the biggeste-commerce player – Flipkart to drive sales volume in tier II and II towns through issuance of Pre-Paid Gift Vouchers.
60% of online shopping happens with Cash-On-Delivery (COD). CODis an expensive model for any e-commerce companies as there is a high rate of returns and cash management is expensive for them. Also in most rural towns COD option is not available due to lack of proper addresses. Pay Point India provides a solution to their grievances with its vast reach of 28,000+ retailer network. Through Pay Point, e-commerce companies can do a pre-paid sale in form of Gift Voucher/Coupons, thus reducing the burden of COD.This is aimed at giving deeper reach to e-commerce player with minimal logistics cost.
Partners can also use Pay Point’s retailer location as a delivery point in case of unavailability of a proper address as these are well registered businesses with all background due diligence in place. Customers can pick up their deliveries from their local retailers at their convenience. Thus making this model relevant even for working couples in the urban areas.
Pay Point India’s new service arm will be substitute for those who do not have credit/debit cards or for customers who are not comfortable using cards. Customer will have to pay the amount in cash to the retailer and buy a Flipkart coupon/voucher for himself or his loved ones. The customer will then get a 16-digit voucher number and a 6-digit pin as SMS on his mobile and on an email. This will enable the customer to later go and shop on Flipkart using the EGV option mentioned on the payment portal. To promote this service, e-commerce players are also offering extra discounts for customers opting for EGV.
Mr. Ketan Doshi, Managing Director, Pay Point India said, “We are committed towards bringing convenience of latest services for our last mile customers. As the number of mobile users is poised to reach one billion, customer awareness and acceptance of e-commerce is also increasing.
