NewZNew (Bathinda) : The PRTC Bathinda has nabbed a bus driver for stealing 40 liters of diesel from a bus of Chandigarh depot that had come to Bathinda.
Giving information in this context today, the PRTC Bathinda General Manager Mr Rajinder Joshi said that the aforesaid driver had come with bus number PB -65L-9963 (HVAC bus) from Chandigarh depot at around 1:10 am. The bus had started from Chandigarh at 7:30 pm and reached the bus station Bathinda at around 1:10 am (intervening night of Dec 11 and Dec 12). On reaching the bus stand, the driver Gobind parked bus in a secluded place.
The checking team deployed including traffic manager Jaswinder Singh Chahal, inspector Joginder Singh, duty inspector Gurcharan Singh and traffic assistant Karnail Singh, found the driver Gobind of siphoning off 20liters of petrol each in two cans. When the driver Gobind was about to pick up the two cans containing stolen diesel, the team nabbed him and took him to the workshop office.
Mr Joshi added that the driver Gobind tendered an apology in written accepting his mistake and seeking pardon. He added that the driver embezzled Rs 2120 from the PRTC. The driver has been stealing fuel earlier too.
He added that the PRTC headquarters have been informed about the incidence and has been written to take action against the driver.
