NewZNew (Chandigarh) : The Punjab government today constituted Punjab State Accreditation Board under the Chairmanship of the Chief Secretary to provide accreditation to the health care institutions in the state.
Disclosing this here today an official spokesman of the Health Department said that the other members would be the Secretary Health and Family Welfare Member, Secretary Medical Education and Research Member, Secretary Department of Social Security and Woman and Child Development Member, Secretary Department of Local Government, Director PGIMER (Post Graduation Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh), Senior representative from Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. An eminent expert from the field of Health Department would be the nominated member as recommended by the state government.
Adding further, the spokesman said that by setting up of the State Accreditation Board the quality of healthcare facilities in the state would be continuously monitored at the State and district level.
