NewZNew (Shimla) : Mercury plummeted by 4 to 8 notches in various parts of Himachal Pradesh as the region received widespread rains.

The minimum temperature dropped from 13.4 degree Celsius to 8 deg C in state capital Shimla which was lashed by strong velocity winds while maximum day temperature dropped from 23.9 deg C to 17.5 deg C, 4 deg below normal. The maximum temperature dropped 37.8 deg C to 30.4 deg C at Una which was hottest in the region while Nahan recorded a high of 28.3 deg C against 31.9 deg C yesterday.
