NewZNew (Bathinda) : The Deputy Commissioner Dr Basant Garg inspected the final day rehearsal for the district level Republic Day celebrations at the Mulit Purpose Stadium today. Accompanied by the SSP Mr Inder Mohan Singh Bhatti he inspected and took salutation from the parade comprising of Punjab Police, Punjab home Guards, NCC, Scouts and Guides that DSP Malkit Singh led.
The Deputy Commissioner said that on January 26, the PWD Minister, Government of Punjab, Mr Janmeja Singh Sekhon would hoist the tricolor at Multipurpose Stadium Bathinda. He appealed the people of Bathinda to take part in the district level celebrations with full vigor and enthusiasm to pay true tribute to the martyrs of nation. He added that besides the freedom fighters, people with exceptional achievements in respective fields would also be honored. He added that besides the patriotic items by school children, the different government departments too would present tableaux representing development in their fields.
After inspecting the full dress rehearsal at stadium, he also convened a meeting of the district officials and school in-charges directing them to arrange things properly. The ADC (general) Mr Sumit Jarangal, SP Mr Jasvir Singh, Mr Vishesh Sarangal IAS, District Transport officer Mr Latif Ahmed, assistant commissioner (general) Mr Narinder Singh Dhaliwal, assistant commissioner (grievances) Miss Charumita, district education officer (secondary) Dr Amarjit Kaur Kotfatta, assistant director youth services Mr Raghubir Singh Mann and others officers were too present at the meeting.
