SSC CGL 2024 Exam Summary

The commission has released the SSC CGL Notification 2024 online in pdf format which includes all the necessary information regarding the exam to be conducted for Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ posts. To be precise, the following details give a glimpse into the SSC CGL Exam 2024.

Below are some changes that have been noted in the official notification for SSC CGL 2024 Exam.

1. No post for Assistant Audit Officer and Assistant Accounts Officer is announced this year, therefore, there will be no Paper-III of the Tier-II Exam.
2. No pre-existing photograph is required, the candidate has to stand/sit before the camera when prompted by the application module.

SSC CGL 2024- Important Dates

Along with the notification, the complete schedule for the online registration process and tier 1 exam month are also notified. The candidates holding the required eligibility criteria and falling in the age group to apply for the SSC CGL 2024 Exam, have to submit their applications online from 24th June to 24th July 2024.

SSC CGL Vacancy 2024

For the coming year, 17727 vacancies have been released along with the SSC CGL Notification on 24th June 2024. SSC CGL 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Not everyone can appear in the SSC CGL Exam, as the commission has set parameters for minimum eligibility criteria including education qualifications, age limit, and nationality. As per this year’s notification, the SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria is as follows-

SSC CGL Education Qualification

• For Junior Statistical Officer (JSO)- Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with a minimum 60% in Mathematics in Class 12th
  or in any discipline with Statistics as one of the subjects in graduation.
• For Statistical Investigator Grade-II- Graduation Degree from any recognized University with Economics Statistics or Mathematics as a compulsory or Elective Subject.
• For Research Assistant in National Human Rights Commission (NHRC)- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute with a minimum of one year of research experience in any recognized university or recognized Research Institution.
• For Remaining posts- Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University.

Upper Age Relaxation

Nationality

A candidate must be a citizen/subject of either India/Nepal/Bhutan/a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to permanently settle in India.

SSC CGL 2024 Application Fee

The candidates have to pay Rs. 100/- while submitting their application form online at www.ssc.gov.in. Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD, and ESM are eligible for reservation and are exempted from payment of application fees. The last date to pay the application fee is 25th July 2024 (11 pm). The application fee has to be paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking or by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, or RuPay Debit cards only.

SSC CGL Selection Process 2024

Two years ago, SSC revised the selection process, and now only two-tier exams will be conducted to shortlist candidates for various Group B and C posts under the SSC CGL Notification 2024. SSC CGL 2024 Examination will be conducted in four tiers as indicated below:

Stage 1 Tier-I: Computer-Based Examination (Qualifying in nature).

Stage 2 Tier-II: Paper I (Compulsory for all posts), Paper II for candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.

• All candidates who have applied successfully for the SSC CGL exam, will be assigned Roll numbers and Admit Cards for appearing in the Computer-Based Examination (Tier-I).

• Based on the marks scored in Tier-I, candidates will be shortlisted, category-wise, to appear in Tier-II and Tier-III Examinations.

• Separate cut-offs will be released separately for Paper-II of Tier-II (i.e. for the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO), and for Paper-I of Tier-II (i.e. for all other posts).

• Tier-II Examinations will be conducted for all the candidates qualified in Tier-I.

• In Tier II, all the candidates will be required to appear in Paper-I and Paper-II. However, only specific candidates shortlisted for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) will be required to appear in Paper-II.

SSC CGL 2024 Admit Card
